Understanding the Types of Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available in the form of federal, state, and institutional grants, scholarships and loans. Click each section below to explore detailed information about each type of aid programs available for students and families at 糖心Vlog.

Grants

Grants are funds that do not require repayment.
A grant is a monetary gift for people pursuing higher education. It is often based on financial need and does not need to be repaid (unless, for example, you withdraw from school and owe a refund). Federal and State Grant aid is determined by the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Examples of these programs consist of: Pell Grant, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant (GTEG) and Georgia College Completion Grant (GCCG).

糖心Vlog offers institutional scholarships and awards to help reduce the cost of education for our students. Additionally, we provide a detailed list of external scholarships to support families in managing the expenses of a Morehouse education.

Borrowed funds from federal government or outside lending agencies

The U.S. Department of Education, along with other external lending agencies, offers educational loans to help cover educational expenses. Certain loan programs require a credit check and have minimum enrollment criteria.

Work Study

MOREHOUSE COLLEGE FEDERAL WORK STUDY PROGRAM (FWS)

Federal Work-Study program at 糖心Vlog provides part-time jobs for our students with , allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student鈥檚 course of study. We understand that financing your education can be a challenge, and we are committed to helping you achieve your academic goals. The Federal Work-Study Program is designed to provide you with an opportunity to earn a portion of your financial aid by working in an approved on-campus job. Students are awarded Federal Work-Study funding up to their Cost of Attendance. Funding is limited as approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
